Dior Handbag Restored

I recently received this white leather Dior handbag for restoration.

It had a lot of dirty areas.
Light colored handbags will show unsightly stains
 more than darker colored ones.
With my restoration process this problem can be corrected.

The corner edges were a little worn, but mostly dirty.

The front pocket were soiled.

The handles had the typical wear from use.

The back had some staining were it was rubbed against.

Below are the pictures after the restoration process.

The handles were cleaned and re-dyed.

The back is restored and all marks removed.

The edges and bottom totally clean and refinished.

The front pockets are clean and refreshed.

This Dior handbag has been fully restored.

The best way to keep the value of an expensive leather handbag or purse
once it has become soiled is have it cleaned, reconditioned and re-dyed.

Tod's Handbag Re-dyed

This Tod's handbag was mailed in to be cleaned
and have it's color changed from white to tan.

The customer had seen this style handbag online in tan
and wanted to change her's to the same color.

White tends to show dirt and stains more than darker colors.
Tan will not show dirt as bad and is a good color for this handbag.

This was a very nice leather bag. Other than needing cleaning
and re-dyeing it was in perfect shape.

After cleaning and re-dyeing the handbag is now a beautiful tan.

A closeup of the bottom.

A closeup of the front.

Some handbags are difficult to redye
because the of the way the factory finishes the leather.

This leather took the dye well and the finish was baby soft.

Blue Chanel Purse Redyed to Black

This blue Chanel purse was sent in to have the color changed to black.

The leather was in perfect condition.

The color was a little faded out.

Changing the color on leather is best achieved by
going with a lighter or darker shade of the original.
But if you don't want to do that, black usually works well.

Here is the purse after I finished re-dyeing it to black.

Re-dyeing the leather woven in the chain was the biggest challenge.

Here is a picture of the back.

The leather was reconditioned and took to re-dyeing very well.

Franco Sarto Purse Restoration

This Franco Sarto purse was mailed in with extensive wear and stains all over.

A closeup of a liquid stain on the side and corners.

The original color was worn to the point where it was splotchy.

Closeup of the top where the color had worn off.

Another picture of the side stain.

After cleaning, reconditioning and re-dyeing,
 the purse was "like new".

When re-dyeing heavily worn purses,
I have to determine what was the original color.

Then I do my best to come close to matching that color.

This is not an exact science, but I can come fairly close.
I mix these color by hand.
This is the front of the purse.

This is the back of the purse.

Hobo Wallet Restoration

Hobo wallets can cost between 100.00 to 200.00 dollars.
So getting them restored is cost effective and
will make that purchase last a lot longer.
This Hobo wallet had the usual wear around the edges.

The outside was a ruffed up.

Here's a closeup of the outside corner.

The side finish had begun to wear off.

Below show the restored Hobo wallet.

I went ahead and refinished the inside to make sure it matched the refinished outside.

The wallet is back to "like new" condition.

Michael Kors Handbag Restoration

This Michael Kors handbag was mailed in with extensive staining all over.
The customer really liked the bag and wanted me to restore it to usable condition.

The handbag was an ideal candidate for restoration.
Other than the stains, the leather was not cracked or damaged .

Here's the back side of the handbag.

The stains on the corners looked bad,
but I knew they can be corrected with the proper cleaning,
reconditioning and re-dyeing of the leather.

Both sides were heavily stained.

The inside leather was also very soiled but the lining was fine.

Below are the pictures after I completed the restoration.

Close up of the front.

The back side.

All the stains are now gone.

The leather is re-dyed and back to "like new condition".

I also removed the stains on the inside.

This handbag is ready to take out on the town.

The cost to replace this handbag with a new one would be around $400.00,
but I was able to restore it for a fraction of that.

When I hear that someone discarded an expensive purse or handbag
because it was dirty, worn or old looking, I say think about having it restored instead.
It is better than the cost of  buying a new one.
